(Nearly) Every Day May Accountability Group
On a mission to write more? Trying to make headway on a larger project? Need some help? Me, too.
Let’s hold each other accountable.
All my other weekday classes are in the afternoons and evenings this May. And I have a daily 10AM EST/ 7AM PST slot free.
So here’s what I’m doing: every weekday in May, I’m going to log into Zoom. I’ll post a motivational quote and maybe a prompt or two. We’ll spend one minute telling each other what we’re about to write, and then we’ll write together on mute for the next 54 minutes. Any project. Any genre.
Only one rule: stay in the chair.
If you wish, you can stick around and debrief for the final 5 minutes. Otherwise, log off and keep writing.
FAQs:
Why 10am? Completely arbitrary. That just happens to be the only time I have completely free all month.
Do I really have to pay? If $21 is too steep, just message me for the link and come write anyway. Life’s too short to only ever write alone. But I offer scholarships for my more expensive classes, so the $$ raised in these accountability circles will go toward those. Plus, I don’t know about you, but when I put a little skin in the game, I’m more likely to show up.
Do I have to come every time? Lord, no. This isn’t high school Spanish. I’m not taking attendance. Everyone’s getting an A whether you come once or every time or something in between.
What about the weekends? I actually teach every weekend in May, so you’re on your own then. Or if you’re local, come find me, and we’ll write together IRL.
