This weekend is for anyone at any stage who wants to write with joy and abandon. Maybe you’re just starting out and your story is merely the notion of an idea in your pocket. Or maybe you’re mired in a 200-page memoir with no end in sight.
No matter your practice or experience, during this retreat, you can expect to draft a handful of personal stories, and you’ll leave our time together with strategies for finishing and publishing them, as well as a rejuvenated sense of self and creative community.

One Bedroom Suite Water View* w/Balcony (1 king bed, 1 sofa bed, kitchen, writing table): $349 per night + taxes and fees. *Just to be clear: in Florida, “water view” means you can see the water from your room, but usually at an angle and often over another building or street. Where is this retreat taking place? We’ll be gathering to write in a private room at the Costa Hollywood Beach Resort, 777 N. Ocean Dr., Hollywood, FL 33019.
Can I share a room with someone? Of course. Invite a friend. (Or 2. Or 3.) You’d all need to pay your $200 registration for the retreat individually, but you can absolutely split the cost of the room however you wish.
Can I stay somewhere else? Absolutely. We looked at dozens of hotels to find the Costa’s balance of beach access, comfort, and friendly community spaces, but there are plenty of other lodgings. If you’re a local, you could even drive in for the day. You’d still register for the retreat via this $200 deposit. We’d then email your remaining balance ($299) and you’d be free to find any other accommodations you wish.
Can I book extra days before or after this retreat? Yup. 100%. The average January temperature in Cleveland, Ohio is 29 degrees. We completely understand the desire to travel south and remain there as long as possible. To extend your stay, you’ll still pay your deposit here and book your Jan. 22-24 rooms through the link we send you. Can I come even if I’m not a writer? Certainly. A writer is simply a person who writes. And you’re the only one who can tell your story. During this weekend together, we’ll give you many opportunities to do just that. No expectations. No pressure. Just a supportive group of women sharing our beautiful truths.
Can I bring my partner? Of course. We understand not everyone is comfortable traveling alone. You may bring whomever you wish to the hotel. Swim, sleep, and fish with your entourage. However, the opening dinner and shared writing sessions are exclusively reserved for the women registered for this retreat.
